There is something truly special about people who can get on stage, hold a microphone, tell us something very truthful about ourselves, look at a normal situation from an outsiders perspective or even tell us that we as a species are doomed and still manage to make us laugh. Comedians make life bearable by writing funny sketches, making cool videos, creating movies, or best of all, standing on stage for an hour or more and enthralling us with just their words. Alex Sanchez is one of those special people.
Recounting the first two experiences of his time on stage, Alex tells us about how his first time on stage went moderately well. He was able to get a few laughs, work the crowd, and build up his confidence enough to get him back on the microphone. The following night he went on stage he went on stage and completely bombed. He says that both nights were equally important for him because one taught him that he could do it and the other taught him that if he was going to do it and do it well that he was going to need to work for it. He says that typically he wouldn’t bother and that with other things he would have just given up. He had fun, right? Why bother? He says that he knew that he was in love with comedy that night because he said that he was willing to work for it and he would have to make comedy his life’s passion.
Branching out from the stage, Alex Sanchez and Heath Huffman (a fellow local comedian) decided to make a podcast about a topic that they are both very passionate about: Christian Rock Music. The Praisedown with Heath and Alex is a podcast that discuss Christian Music from a beloved fan perspective even though neither of them are christians anymore. Having grown up with Christian Music, they fell in love with the culture and still to this day love some of the music and talk about it at length all while retaining their witty, comedic charm.
Alex Nicole Sanchez is a wonderful creator that is a real treat to listen and talk to and I truly hope you all enjoy this episode.
